Air Source Heat Pump, Solar PV, Underfloor Heating and Battery Storage installation for Mrs Swales

Background

Mrs Swales had recently bought a property which was around 20 years old and required modernising. It was decided that the property should be fully renovated along with a new single story rear extension. The property was to be fully reconfigured on the ground floor and new flooring fitted throughout.

Requirement

The priority was to future proof the property to protect from increasing energy costs whilst also providing comfortable levels of heating throughout each room of the property. There was to be increased electricity demands due to a newly purchased electric vehicle and as the property was to be occupied most days.

Solution

Marshall and McCourt designed and supplied a Solar PV system which was to be installed onto the garage area due to the requirement of these panels not to be located on the main dwellings roof for aesthetic reasons. A higher output all black panel maximised the energy produced from the surface area available. The addition of battery storage allowed for any surplus energy to be stored rather than this being supplied back to the grid.

An overlay low profile underfloor heating system was installed to provide a consistent heat throughout each room which could regulated independently by a smart programmable thermostat in each location. The installation of an air source heat pump and pressurised tank further improved performance and benefited from electricity generated by the Solar PV system.
