Mrs Briggs, Air Source Heat Pump

An air source heat pump installation that allowed for a large reduction in fuel bills.

Air Source Heat Pumps Installation for Mrs Briggs

Background

Mrs Briggs first contacted us as she was interested in a replacement boiler. Her heating and hot water was supplied via direct electric as she was off the gas grid. Even though this property was a relatively new bungalow and well insulated, she was spending a lot of money every year on her electricity bill to heat her home. As a retired couple, this was not ideal by any means.

Requirement

The initial requirement was for a more energy efficient electric boiler. After extensive discussion and a full assessment of the existing heating system and property, it was decided that there was a much better solution available that could lead to a large reduction in fuel bills but also provide better performance. It was also required that there would be minimal disturbance during the installation.

Solution

It was agreed that an air source heat pump was to be the best solution. This would provide efficiencies of up to 320% and still be able to function using only electricity as a fuel source. In turn this reduced fuel bills by a third and generated RHI income from the government’s subsidy that is available. A pressurised hot water cylinder was also installed to provide a high pressure and flow rate to the existing mixer showers and the radiators were upgraded as part of the project.

The Testimonial

“Great service throughout, excellent advice! I am now saving £100’s on my fuel bills. I would highly recommend Marshall & McCourt”
