Air Source Heat Pump Installation For Mr Clarke
Background
Mr Clarke is a local farmer who we first met at an agricultural show where we were exhibiting our products. After a long discussion on our trade stand, he decided to arrange for one of our renewable energy experts to visit his property to provide him with a free site survey and advise on which technology would be best to use. The property was an old solid wall farm cottage in a remote village with no mains gas available.
Requirement
As this property was currently heated by solid fuel from an old back boiler, the main requirement was a system that would be convenient and remove the manual intensive job of having to load and clean the solid fuel fire daily. As the radiators were old and worn, these were also in desperate need of replacing with modern convectors.
Solution
We found a heat pump to be a perfect solution as they require very little maintenance and can work to efficiencies of 320%. The customer liked the fact that the market leading Mitsubishi Ecodan unit provided him with his heating but also pressurised hot water which delivered a much needed boost in performance compared to the old gravity hot water system that he was used to. An added bonus was the governments RHI payments that he now received for a seven year period to help offset the initial cost of installation.
